I didn’t need to attach a Bluetooth speaker to the machine to watch YouTube or Netflix on the device. These are distortion-free and loud enough to let you enjoy games in peace at home without requiring you to plug in headphones.
The dual front-firing Smart Amp speakers on the ROG Ally support Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. The placement of speaker grilles and air vents is such that they don’t come in contact with your hands while you are playing games on the console. The back hosts two air vents to allow cooling via two separate fans. The bottom parts on both the left and right sides carry grilles for front-firing speakers. The whole button structure has been carefully designed to stay on the top portion of the console to make every button and trigger within reach. There are four triggers (two on either side) and two additional triggers at the back, accessible via the middle or ring finger. The left side includes another joystick (mostly for movement in games), a D-pad (directional buttons), a View button, and a Command Centre button. The right side includes ABXY buttons for actions, a joystick (mostly to control camera angle or aim in games), a Menu button, and an Armoury Crate button. There is a 7-inch touch screen encased in the middle of the device, surrounded by left and right sides dotted with buttons. Despite looking so buff, the ROG Ally doesn’t feel heavy at all and I never felt I would drop it by mistake.
